Managing Director & Co-Founder

Wan Li Zhu is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of MIT Alumni Angels, where he runs Boston and New York chapters.  He is a Partner at Fairhaven Capital, a technology venture capital firm in Boston. Wan Li's investment focus includes AI-enabled systems, enterprise software, cyber security, and consumer platforms. Prior to Fairhaven, Wan Li ran product development and marketing initiatives for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the company’s flagship business software application. Under his tenure, Dynamics CRM became the fastest growing business in the company’s history and launched the first SaaS offering at Microsoft. Wan Li has also spent time at Google in online advertising, at Morgan Stanley in technology investment banking, and at Merrill Lynch in IT.  Wan Li is Chairman of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and Executive Chairman of the New England Venture Network. Wan Li holds an MBA from Harvard, and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, where he attended on scholarship.




Ishan Sachdev is a Managing Director and Co-Founder of MIT Alumni Angels.  He is also a growth equity investor at Providence Strategic Growth, where he focuses on high growth software investments.  Previously, he worked at iPay Technologies, a growth-stage payments startup, where he led a successful process to sell the company, at Bain Capital Ventures as a venture capital & growth equity investor, and at Goldman Sachs as a proprietary credit trader. He also spent time at the U.S. Department of the Treasury working on financial markets policy.  He mentors for several startup accelerators including MassChallenge, the Techstars Barclays Accelerator, 500 Startups, and the MIT Sandbox.  He received a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with Distinction, and a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science from MIT, both in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
